Head of PE Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Head of PE to join our team at Summerhill School. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our PE department, building upon our sporting success and creating new opportunities for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive PE curriculum, aligning with national standards and school policies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and parents, promoting a positive and inclusive PE culture
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver whole-school initiatives, enhancing student outcomes and well-being
  • Manage and allocate resources, ensuring effective use of facilities and equipment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Head of PE or similar leadership role
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
  • Passion for PE and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
