About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Leader to join our team at NHS Blood and Transplant. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of Healthcare Assistants and Donor Care Supervisors to provide exceptional care to our donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take clinical responsibility for ensuring the safe assessment and blood donation of our donors.
  • Be accountable for the safe running of a blood donation session.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring an excellent donor experience.
  • Maintain the competency and skills of your team and yourself.
  • Be able to adapt communication styles for difficult conversations.
  • Maintain your professional development to help us deliver improvements to our practice.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership qualities, experience of supporting the professional development of others, and a good understanding of clinical audit and research. You should also have experience of working with Information Technology, such as hand-held devices and Microsoft Office packages.

As a Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality care and a passion for improving patient safety initiatives and risk management.
