Full Stack GIS Developer

Chapman Tate Associates is seeking a highly skilled Full Stack GIS Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge geospatial applications using React, Python, and Django.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop full-stack GIS applications using React and Django, integrating spatial data visualisation and geospatial analysis.
  • Build robust and scalable web services using Python and Django for efficient geospatial data processing.
  • Design and maintain databases, ensuring optimal performance and scalability with PostGIS on Azure PostgreSQL.
  • Utilise Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Registry (ACR), and other Azure tools for containerised deployments and cloud infrastructure management.
  • Implement geospatial processing using libraries like Rasterio, GeoPandas, and other GIS tools to handle vector and raster data.
  • Use OpenLayers to create dynamic, interactive map applications for web-based geospatial services.
  • Integrate Redis and Celery for asynchronous task management and job queuing to enhance performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to develop end-to-end geospatial solutions.
  • Ensure code quality, security, and performance through best practices, code reviews, and testing.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong understanding of geospatial technologies.
  • Proficiency in React, Python/Django for developing full-stack applications.
  • Experience with OpenLayers or similar web mapping libraries.
  • Familiarity with Redis and Celery for building efficient, scalable web applications.
  • Strong understanding of database management, cloud architecture, and spatial data visualisation.
