About the Role

The post holder will work within a service providing a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing. This service aims to engage in preventative work and offers low-intensity early interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties.

The post holder will work with children, young people of all ages and families from a range of different cultural backgrounds. They will utilize interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. The post holder will also be part of a team of clinicians who can provide access to clinical supervision, peer supervision, line management, and CPD.

About the Team

The Richmond Mental Health Support Team is a dynamic and supportive team that provides mental health services to children and young people in the Kingston and Richmond area. The team is committed to providing high-quality services that meet the needs of children and young people and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with children, young people, and families to provide mental health assessments and interventions
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support children and young people's mental health and wellbeing
  • Collaborate with schools, community agencies, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive mental health services
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to colleagues
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of the team's policies and procedures

About You

We are looking for a qualified and experienced mental health professional who is passionate about working with children and young people. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, mental health, and wellbeing. They will be able to work effectively with children, young people, and families from diverse backgrounds and will be committed to providing high-quality services that meet the needs of our clients.

Requirements

  • Qualification in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or nursing
  • Experience working with children and young people in a mental health setting
  • Strong assessment and intervention skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and provide clinical supervision
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
