About the Role

Achieving for Children is seeking a qualified Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to join our Richmond Mental Health Support Team. As a key member of our team, you will work with children, young people, and families from diverse backgrounds, providing early interventions and support for mild to moderate anxiety and depression, as well as behavioral difficulties.

You will be responsible for delivering specific therapeutic interventions, conducting mental health assessments, and working collaboratively with educational settings to increase mental health awareness. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us achieve our goal of providing a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing.

About You

We are looking for a successful candidate with the following qualities:

  • Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1-year 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' course or Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) course
  • Experience working with children and young people with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, including anxiety disorders and affective (mood) disorders
  • Experience delivering specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families
  • Ability to carry out mental health assessments and conduct 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions
  • Ability to work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness
  • Ability to make assessments of risk and take appropriate action
  • Good IT skills, including the use of database or spreadsheet packages
