About the Role:
The Data Science Institute at Imperial College London is seeking an Institute Manager to provide maternity cover for up to 6 months. The successful candidate will manage the professional operations and research projects of the Institute, reporting directly to the Institute's Director.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage ongoing research projects at the Institute, supporting academic staff with resource planning, budget management, recruitment, procurement, and project delivery.
* Support academic staff, research staff, and external partners in identifying and securing new opportunities for research collaborations.
* Coordinate and support research grant applications for the Institute.
Operational Management:
* Oversee day-to-day operations at the Institute, supporting the Director and working with internal teams to deliver key initiatives across research, education, innovation, and recruitment.
* Manage the Institute's finances and resources, including both core and research accounts.
* Coordinate with academics and support staff to synchronize Institute activities. Report Institute activities and achievements to university management and sponsors as directed.
* Line-manage the Institute's operations team and organize Institute operations meetings.
Communications and Engagement:
* Act as the Institute's primary contact for internal and external communications.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
* Possess excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and professional services teams, as well as to collaborate successfully with academic colleagues.
