About the Role

Fugro is seeking a highly skilled Senior Marine Environmental Scientist to join our team in Portchester, Hampshire. As a pivotal member of our Marine Environmental team, you will be responsible for leading marine mammal/protected species and passive acoustic surveys on a variety of vessels worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Line management of survey and reporting staff
  • Leading all aspects of surveys from mobilisation to demobilisation
  • Producing high-quality technical reports
  • Providing technical input, review, and quality control of report deliverables
  • Training staff in collecting, arranging, interpreting, and presenting survey data and results

Requirements

  • BSc in Marine Science, Environmental Science, or equivalent
  • Experience of undertaking marine mammal/protected species observation surveys, passive acoustic monitoring, and underwater noise surveys
  • Technical report writing with specialist knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines: marine mammals/protected species, underwater noise/mitigation, or environmental legislation
  • Project or team leader experience
  • Good Microsoft Office capabilities
  • Excellent organisational, presentation, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines
