Job Description

Fugro is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine Environmental Scientist to join our team in Portchester, Hampshire. As a key member of our Marine Environmental team, you will be responsible for leading marine mammal/protected species and passive acoustic surveys on a variety of vessels worldwide, producing high-quality technical reports, and training, mentoring, and managing survey and reporting personnel.

The Role

As a Senior Marine Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading marine mammal/protected species and passive acoustic surveys on a variety of vessels worldwide
  • Producing high-quality technical reports
  • Training, mentoring, and managing survey and reporting personnel
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out to company-specific standards and are in line with our QHSSE policies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BSc in Marine Science, Environmental Science, or equivalent
  • Experience of undertaking marine mammal/protected species observation surveys, passive acoustic monitoring, and underwater noise surveys
  • Experience of technical report writing with specialist knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines: marine mammals/protected species, underwater noise/mitigation, or environmental legislation
  • Project or team leader experience
  • Good Microsoft Office capabilities
  • Excellent organisational, presentation, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines
