About the Role:

Birmingham City University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Supervisor to join its Security Services team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supervising the operational security function and ensuring the safety and security of all University users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the operational security function and ensure professional, efficient, and approachable supervision and guidance at all times.
  • Deliver high standards of customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Work with management to achieve the University's goals and objectives.
  • Use your previous skills and experience to enhance the department, bringing additional experience, knowledge, new ideas, and 'best practice' to the team.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a role or environment with transferable skills, or previous security roles.
  • Be educated to GCSE Level 'C' or equivalent, particularly in English Language.
  • Hold a Security Industry (SIA) 'Security Guarding' and/or 'Door Supervision' licence or be competent enough to be able to do so within three months of commencing the role.
  • Demonstrate skills outlined within the 'Person Specification' section of the aligned Job Description.
