Role

The University of York is seeking a highly skilled Communication and Engagement Specialist to support the Head of White Rose in achieving a bold new vision and mission.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to create and execute a strategic communications plan for the consortium, fostering networks across the three universities.

As a proactive storyteller, you will have a proven track record in producing captivating content across various channels, with a focus on responsible, accurate, and accessible communication.

You will play a key role in overseeing the Community Fund, which aims to catalyse the establishment of networks and communities across the universities.

A strong networking and interpersonal skills are essential, with evidence of building collaborative, productive working relationships and networks.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 6 qualification, substantial experience in strategic communications, and a proven track record of raising an organisation's profile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a multi-audience communications plan
  • Create and manage content across various mediums, including web, news, newsletters, videos, and social media
  • Manage social media channels and build collaborative, productive working relationships and networks
  • Take the initiative and work independently to develop effective communications activities

What We Offer

We are open to flexible arrangements and consider part-time working at a minimum of 0.8 FTE. We welcome applicants with equivalent non-UK qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
