Job Title: Finance Business Partner

Reed Public Sector Hub is seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join a Local Authority in Berkshire. This role will provide financial support to the Department of Economic Growth and Neighbourhood services, focusing on budget areas including Planning, Transport, Public Protection, Waste Disposal, Departmental Management, and Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial advice and support to budget holders on all aspects of the Finance function.
  • Support budget managers in providing monthly budget forecasts of the Expenditure and Income position, feeding into the Council's Budget Monitoring reports.
  • Involved in the setting of Council budgets in the areas specified, including modelling Payroll Establishment changes, suggesting and actioning budget virements, and loading budgets.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience of working within local government finance as a business partner (ideally with direct experience supporting Environment services - planning, transport, public protection, or Waste Disposal/sustainability).
Working Arrangements:

Hybrid working - the successful candidate can expect to be in the office 1-2 days a month.
