About the Role
Candidates are invited to apply for a challenging opportunity as a Product Safety and Regulation Specialist within the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS). This exciting position plays a vital role in shaping a sustainable energy future for the country by ensuring compliance with energy regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or its equivalent in engineering or a related field, and be capable of quickly acquiring and applying the latest technical knowledge, with a particular focus on metering systems. Strong analytical skills will allow you to interpret complex data, identify trends and inform decision making, while excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities include leading enforcement activities that guarantee industry compliance with legal requirements, providing advice that supports business improvements, and fostering collaboration throughout the OPSS to ensure policy needs are met and consistent practices maintained.

Key Skills and Qualifications
A strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective plans, adapt to changing priorities and deliver results under pressure, you will be skilled at communicating complex information to technical and non-technical audiences. An inspirational team leader, ready to collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals, experience of delivering technical regulations or operational projects in the utilities sector would be an advantage.

This role involves travel to sites throughout Great Britain. A Civil Service pension, flexible working options and a work culture that encourages inclusion and diversity make this an attractive opportunity. Estimated salary: £39,384 - £46,715.
