At DP World in the UK, we are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Wolverhampton. This role reports directly to the Quality Director and is responsible for coordinating health and safety across the site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing daily reports, ensuring that all health and safety processes are implemented in accordance with company policies, as well as coordinating and administering safety training activities to ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations.

This role will work a Monday-to-Thursday shift pattern of 07:00 am to 15:30 pm and Fridays from 07:00 am to 14:30 pm.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws, or reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will provide technical safety and health support and information to all employees to ensure they operate in a safe, orderly, and clean environment.

  • Monitor and implement updates in safety regulations, laws, or reporting requirements
  • Provide technical safety and health support and information to all employees
  • Coordinate and analyze risk assessments, near miss, and accident data to present to senior management
  • Lead health and safety meetings, present data, record actions, and maintain progress on actions
  • Identify, design, and develop company health and safety management systems, training programs, and procedures
  • Conduct health and safety induction training for employees, agency employees, contractors, and visitors

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will also conduct internal audits, workplace inspections, and work with auditors and vendors to address findings and complaints in a timely and efficient manner.

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 per annum, based on market rates and industry standards. Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Nebosh General certificate essential; IEMA certified is advantageous but not essential
  • 2 years experience within a similar role is beneficial
  • Health and safety experience or exposure to health and safety in a fast-paced warehouse/manufacturing environment
  • Current First Aid/CPR First Responder Training is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications and IT literate
