About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our expanding team at Thales UK. As a key member of our Land Communication business, you will be responsible for delivering complex projects from contract award to final delivery, while also supporting bid activities to generate organic growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide over-arching bid and project management leadership, ensuring effective liaison across stakeholders and the application of best practice.
  • Manage complex, high-value projects, delivering to internal and external customers, both in the UK and internationally.
  • Ensure data integrity of all project information, including financials and schedules, using Oracle and Primavera toolsets.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and the identification of lessons learned.
  • Coach and support less experienced project managers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of successfully managing high-value projects (circa £50m+) in a complex, multidisciplinary, multi-site organisation, within the defence sector.
  • Ability to manage project teams, including coaching project managers and promoting a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Comprehensive understanding of generic processes and techniques used to schedule project activities, including WBS, OBS, milestones, dependencies, and EVM.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to deal with customers, partners, suppliers, and other parts of the business.
