Position Overview
The Director of Supply Chain for the UK is responsible for crafting and implementing the supply chain strategy across the UK and EU, ensuring a reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of food and paper products that align with brand expectations.
This role leads the EU Supply Chain Management team, guaranteeing the establishment of efficient supply chain practices globally, which encompass:
- Category Management
- Demand Forecasting
- Inventory Control
- Risk Management
- Communication and Program Oversight
The position requires effective management of supplier partnerships within the EU, negotiating competitive contracts by capitalizing on economies of scale throughout the region. The Director will design and implement a robust supply chain framework with a network of suppliers that can maximize efficiencies across the EU. The execution of supply chain projects aimed at reducing food costs and enhancing profitability at the restaurant level is crucial.
Category Management: Build team expertise in managing essential product categories, including developing category profiles, overseeing the RFP process, establishing cost structures, and negotiating contracts. Adapt North American programs as necessary.
Enhance and refine standard operating procedures for the supply chain, which include:
- Processes for entering new markets
- Development of new supplier relationships
- Implementation of new products
- Supplier assessment protocols
- Training for franchise supply chain operations
Ensure that all distribution systems are optimized for cost efficiency while meeting quality and service benchmarks. Develop technological solutions tailored to the supply chain requirements of the EU. Responsibilities also include identifying cost-saving initiatives, making supplier recommendations, overseeing supply chain processes in collaboration with franchisees, evaluating supplier performance, and conducting contract negotiations.
QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
At least 10 years of experience in managing international procurement, distribution, import/export operations, commodity markets, and inventory management within a multinational food brand, quick-service restaurant, or consumer packaged goods sector is essential.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills are necessary, with a proven track record of fostering positive relationships with a diverse range of suppliers, distributors, franchisees, and internal stakeholders.
Experience in cultivating an inclusive team culture and leading a team that includes remote members is important. The ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members is essential, along with advanced project and process management skills.
