About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Senior Audiologist/Paediatric Audiologist. The successful candidate will assist in paediatric audiology assessments and perform a variety of tasks, including carrying out hearing aid repairs, ordering stock, and responding to patient queries and correspondence.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in paediatric audiology assessments
  • Carry out hearing aid repairs
  • Order stock and manage inventory
  • Respond to patient queries and correspondence
  • Develop skills and interests in the field of Paediatric Audiology

Requirements

  • ONVQ level 4 in Customer Care, Healthcare Science or Information Technology, or equivalent
  • 5 GCSEs at grade A* to C, including a science subject, English and Maths, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of different types and degrees of hearing loss

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • 2 A levels in science / maths / IT or similar, or equivalent
  • Experience in a customer care environment
  • Experience working with hearing aids and repairs

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and skill in use of computer programmes including Word and Excel, and evidence of ability to learn to use new software
  • Ability to deal regularly and appropriately with angry, frustrated or distressed individuals
  • Excellent customer care skills

Communication

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good command of English both written and verbal

Personal and People Development

  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to work without supervision and work independently following relevant procedures, guidelines and policies

Specific Requirements

  • Effective IT skills including experience of Microsoft Office and Audiology software systems
  • Highly developed skills where accuracy is important, such as taking ear impressions, use of probe tube microphone measurements
