Job Summary

The St George's Hospital Auditory Implant Service (AIS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audiologist to join our team as a Senior Audiologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality clinical service for patients with auditory implants, including cochlear implants, bone conduction hearing implants, and middle ear implants.

Main Responsibilities

The Senior Audiologist will be responsible for:

  • Managing a caseload of patients with auditory implants, including diagnostic assessments, rehabilitation, and follow-up care.
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, including ENT surgeons, audiovestibular physicians, speech and language therapists, and teachers of the hearing impaired.
  • Developing and implementing new pathways and protocols for the delivery of auditory implant services.
  • Leading and managing a team of audiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Participating in clinical audit and research activities to improve the quality of care and services provided by the AIS.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have:

  • A Master's degree in Audiology or a related field.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPsG).
  • Experience in audiology practice, including diagnostic assessments and rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of NICE guidance and BCIG guidelines.
  • Experience in service development and leadership roles.
