**Job Overview:** Disability Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our Short Breaks Team as a Disability Support Professional. This role involves working with children and families who require additional support, while also advocating for their rights and needs.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Act as a key member of the social work team, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and their families.
  • Statutory Compliance: Discharge the Authority's responsibilities under the Children's Act 1989 & 2004 and other relevant legislation.
  • Professional Practice: Maintain high professional standards, adhering to Social Work England guidelines and the Division's values.
  • Assessment and Service Delivery: Conduct thorough assessments, develop and implement effective care plans, and liaise with other agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Family Support and Prevention: Collaborate with health, education, and targeted family support colleagues to address unmet needs and prevent statutory intervention.

**Requirements:**

  • Social Work qualification (Degree or equivalent)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Significant experience in working with children and families, particularly those with disabilities
  • Strong assessment, planning, and intervention skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

**Salary Information:

This position is offered at £35,496 - £41,586 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
