Job Summary:

Rugby Health Limited is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Pharmacy Technician with Rugby Health Limited, you will play a vital role in supporting our Clinical Pharmacists to deliver safe, effective, and efficient systems for repeat prescribing, medicines optimisation, reducing medicines waste, and maximising patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will work under clinical supervision to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines. You will be responsible for managing incoming medication requests, assisting the Practice admin team with medication queries, and liaising with patients to resolve queries and support their use of medication. Additionally, you will contribute towards the improvement of prescribing processes in general practice and promote electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering.

As a Pharmacy Technician with Rugby Health Limited, you will have the opportunity to utilise GP practice clinical systems to conduct prescribing audits and participate in clinical audits to facilitate improvement and changes in practice. You will also support the role of the Clinical Pharmacist in the delivery of the new Primary Care Networks specification model and contribute towards the development of better understanding of the principles of medicines optimisation throughout the practice teams.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming medication requests from patients, pharmacies, care homes, etc.
• Assist the Practice admin team with medication queries.
• Liaise with patients to resolve queries and support their use of medication.
• Contribute towards the improvement of prescribing processes in general practice.
• Promote electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering.
• Utilise GP practice clinical systems to conduct prescribing audits.
• Participate in clinical audits to facilitate improvement and changes in practice.
• Support the role of the Clinical Pharmacist in the delivery of the new Primary Care Networks specification model.

Requirements:

• GPhC Registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
• BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmacy services.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to adjust communication style and content to suit the audience.
• Ability to work accurately and identify errors quickly and easily.
• Ability to think analytically and anticipate obstacles.
• Influencing and negotiating skills.
• An excellent understanding of data protection and confidentiality issues.
