About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Drama Technician to join our team at a mixed secondary school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Drama to provide technical support for the Drama department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the setup and operation of lighting, sound, and stage management systems for school productions.
  • Contribute to the design and construction of sets, props, and other technical aspects of school plays and performances.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of social media platforms, editing software, design software, and content management systems to support the school's digital presence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and students to ensure smooth execution of school events and productions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to students participating in drama activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on technical aspects of school productions.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the Drama department and school events.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in a school or college setting with children aged 11-18.
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in lighting, sound, stage management, and set construction.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, editing software, design software, and content management systems.
  • Familiarity with theatre management software and systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure and overseas police clearances (if applicable).
