Cancer Operations Director Job Description

The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Cancer Operations Director to play a key role in delivering sustainable and resilient cancer pathways.



Main Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership and strategic direction to the cancer service, ensuring alignment with Trust and Divisional objectives.
  • Develop and implement operational plans to improve cancer services, focusing on patient experience, treatment variation, and quality of care.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Directors, Divisional/Lead Nurses, and other stakeholders to drive improvement initiatives and ensure seamless delivery of cancer services.
  • Use analytical skills to identify problems, generate solutions, and adapt approaches to achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Build trust and engagement through effective stakeholder engagement, clear strategic thinking, and transparent communication.


About the Trust

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon, providing a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics, and maternity services.



Requirements

  • Educated to a master's degree level or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Extensive senior management and leadership experience in NHS or private healthcare.
  • Postgraduate qualification or evidence of postgraduate education.
  • Significant track record of senior-level management experience gained in a complex acute hospital setting.
