The Delaware Art Museum is seeking a highly skilled Director of Art Foundation to lead our advancement efforts and drive growth in individual giving and grants. This key role will work closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for securing major gifts, managing grants, and building relationships with donors and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Major Gifts Fundraising: Develop and execute a strategy to secure major gifts from individual donors, with a focus on cultivating and soliciting prospects capable of making significant contributions to the Museum.
- Grants Management: Oversee the Museum's grants program, including research, writing, and submission of grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Donor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and Museum staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the Museum's strategic plan and advancement goals, working closely with the leadership team to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in major gifts fundraising, preferably in the visual arts or cultural sector.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Skills: Proven track record of securing major gifts, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong organizational and time management skills.
