Opus People Solutions: Fostering Social Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fostering Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team at Telford and Wrekin Council. As a Fostering Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting foster carers and ensuring the well-being of children in care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a cohort of foster carers, providing guidance and support to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in care.
  • Conduct assessments, including Form F and Form C, to determine the suitability of foster carers and the needs of children in care.
  • Develop and implement plans to support foster carers and children in care, ensuring their needs are met and their well-being is promoted.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, foster carers, and other agencies, to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to supporting children in care.
Requirements:
  • 3 years' experience as a Social Worker, with a strong background in child protection and fostering.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with foster carers, children, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of children in care.
  • Strong assessment and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective plans to support foster carers and children in care.
