Job Summary

East Ayrshire Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Residential Worker. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to the physical and emotional needs of children and young people, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote the health, education, and social development of our residents.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support services, including education, health, and social care.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive living environment, promoting social skills, emotional intelligence, and life skills.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Regulated Work experience with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act.
  • A Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership or the ability to become a member prior to employment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality care and support services, with a focus on promoting the rights and dignity of our residents.
