Specialist Critical Care and Surgical Dietitian

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietitian to lead our cardiothoracic, cardiology, and transplantation patient care pathway at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the assessment and treatment of complex inpatients, including patients requiring nutritional optimisation for heart and lung transplant or surgery.
- Manage a clinical case load, including the coronary care unit, with the support of a band 5 Dietitian and 3 Dietetic assistants.
- Develop and implement nutritional care plans for patients with complex and changing needs.
- Collaborate with multi-professional and therapy teams to provide high-quality patient care.
- Contribute to the development of the dietetic service, including education, training, and audit.
- Significant post-graduate experience in a relevant specialist area.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Advanced specialist post-graduate training in a relevant specialist area.
- Experience of training Dietetic students and leading clinical teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
