Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have experience working with adults who are autistic or have a learning disability.

The Specialist Community Forensic Team provides services to enhance community provision for people who are autistic or have a learning disability. We work closely with multi-disciplinary professionals, including Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, and Speech and Language Therapy.

The role involves providing high-quality consultation, specialist assessment, and intervention to deliver effective person-centred Speech and Language Therapy services. You will also contribute to multiagency formulation and care planning for individuals, including risk assessments and capacity formulation.

To be successful in this role, you will need significant experience working with adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, and/or adults with mental health needs. You will also require the ability and willingness to travel across the Cheshire and Merseyside region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to adults who are autistic or have a learning disability.
  • Contribute to multiagency formulation and care planning for individuals.
  • Develop and implement person-centred plans to improve communication skills and quality of life.

Requirements:

  • Professional Speech and Language Therapy Degree (BA/BSc or BMedSci)
  • Up-to-date HCPC Professional Registration
  • Evidence of attendance at relevant short courses in the specialist field
  • Postgraduate training and experience in autism, learning disabilities, and/or mental health

Salary: £37,338 - £44,962 per annum
