Job Title: Head of Innovation

Morgan Latif is a specialist leadership search and development consultancy that helps clients across various sectors achieve their transformation and diversity goals. Our mission is to combine traditional recruitment and coaching methods with new technology to provide a tailored and innovative solution to our clients and candidates.

We are working with a prominent food industry company to find a Head of Innovation and Culinary to lead and develop their UK innovation function. This role is crucial in driving a strong food culture and developing the tools needed to create a compelling innovation pipeline that aligns with both commercial goals and evolving consumer demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Innovation Leadership: Collaborate with Senior Leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive innovation strategy and pipeline, driving long-term growth for the business.
  • Team Development: Lead and inspire a high-performing development team, ensuring delivery of industry-leading food standards, processes, and culinary knowledge.
  • Culinary Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of culinary trends and technologies, utilizing this knowledge to shape innovative food products that meet customer needs and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Project Management: Oversee new projects with a strong commercial focus, adhering to budgets, targets, and commercial guidelines while ensuring project viability and ROI.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key voice within the R&D and site leadership teams, driving change and innovation. Work closely with key stakeholders to navigate challenges and expand the business's offerings.
  • Culinary Expertise: Challenge existing culinary standards and ensure that developed products meet specific customer needs. Build strategic relationships with customers' culinary teams to enhance commercial presentations and outcomes.
  • Innovation Pipeline Management: Manage the innovation and development pipeline, focusing on volume, value, and sustainability. Ensure successful project handovers to Operations and collaborate with procurement and packaging teams to assess and approve new materials.
  • Budget Management: Prepare, monitor, and adjust budgets to support innovation and development needs, ensuring resources are used effectively to achieve set goals.

  • Culinary Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends, technologies, and competitors. Build internal and external networks to stay informed and share knowledge with the team.
  • Strategic Innovation: Develop and implement an Innovation and Culinary strategy in close collaboration with the Head of Sales, ensuring the business stays ahead of food trends.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in implementing priority projects, ensuring a structured and efficient approach to product launches.
  • Personnel Management: Coach and develop team members to ensure optimal use of skills and knowledge, conducting performance reviews and identifying training needs.
