Job Summary:

A vibrant and fun primary school based in Cambridge is seeking a proactive and emotionally intelligent teacher to join their team as a Year 6 teacher.

The school aspires to develop well-rounded, confident pupils through a supportive pastoral environment. As a result, we are looking for a primary teacher who knows how to drive attainment and create engaging lessons.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the pastoral care of children taking their final steps in Key stage 2, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a conducive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include teaching the Key stage 2 curriculum to groups of children while also focusing on each individual child's learning targets, encouraging their strengths, and improving their weaknesses.

Additionally, the candidate will help further develop maths ability and introduce fractions, statistics, and geometry. They will also keep track of children's progress and occasionally report back to parents.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications, including QTS or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Upper Key stage 2, ideally with a proven track record of driving attainment
  • The confidence to hit the ground running, proactively lead a class, and manage behaviour in line with school policies
