**Job Title:** Practitioner Psychologist Specialist

**Location:** Southmead Hospital, Bristol

**Job Type:** Part-time (15 hours per week)

**Contract Type:** Fixed-term contract until early 2026

**About the Role:** We are seeking a skilled Practitioner Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team in the burns unit at Southmead Hospital, Bristol. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality interventions and assessments for burn-injured adults, as well as contributing to MDT review and care planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality, specialist interventions for patients and their relatives
  • Developing and delivering training and quality improvement programmes to support psychology leads
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders within the acute care setting and related services
  • Ensuring outcome and service data is routinely collected, in line with service evaluation and clinical governance requirements
  • Providing clinical supervision to junior Practitioner Psychologist colleagues and offering flexibility for cross-cover as needed

Requirements:

  • UK post-graduate doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or Psychotherapy, accredited by the British Psychological Society
  • Registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • At least 5 years' full-time NHS experience of clinical practice in an acute care setting, encompassing trauma and long-term conditions
  • Advanced communication skills relevant to this service setting
  • Able to demonstrate leadership capability in a work context that combines clinical, operational, and strategic aspects of service provision

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £62,000 per annum, pro-rata to part-time hours, plus benefits including access to comprehensive training and development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a supportive team environment.
