Principal Marine Design Engineer

As a key member of the Expleo Engineering UK Limited team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of global maritime programmes, driving innovation and delivering engineering consultancy services. Your expertise will be essential in concept sub-surface vessel design, complex engineering design & analysis tasks, and the creation of new & innovative tools & processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Engage with building teams, provide guidance and direction to less experienced team members, and enable opportunities for growth and development.
  • Engineering Decision Making: Make informed decisions within your sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date in relevant technical areas, develop skills and capabilities, and provide technical support and expertise to others as required.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to successfully discharge the role.
Requirements:
  • A degree in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Naval Engineering), or equivalent experience in the naval and commercial ship design, construction, or maintenance domain.
  • Professional membership of a relevant engineering institution (RINA, IMarEST, IMechE).
  • Chartered Engineer status or ability to achieve within 6 months.
