Paediatric Staff Nurse - Paediatric Emergency Department

This role is open to individuals employed within the NHS Care System.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care, adhering to trust policies and guidelines.
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate patient needs, providing evidence-based care.
  • Initiate and coordinate care for a specified group of patients.
  • Recognize and respond to patient status changes, referring to appropriate clinicians as needed.
  • Promote safe working practices, participating in safety audits to maintain high standards.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve patient care and informed decisions.
  • Promote innovation and share ideas to enhance patient care.
  • Participate in workload allocation and ensure efficient bed management and patient flow.
Requirements
  • Current RN registration with NMC and relevant post-registration qualifications.
  • BSc Degree in a relevant field.
  • Paediatric NMC registration.
Experience
  • Evidence of recent CPD.
  • Awareness of research and evidence-based practice relevant to the clinical area.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of patient administration systems.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Teaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, instruct, and direct others.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Able to support development of others.
  • Articulate and knowledgeable of current professional nursing issues.
  • Health promotion.
  • Ability to adapt to change within the working situation.
  • Clinically competent at Band 5.
  • Intravenous Therapy Skills.
