Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to lead our DXA section in the Nuclear Medicine Department at Swansea Bay University Health Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the sustainability and development of DXA reporting and scanning, meeting departmental KPIs and Royal Osteoporosis Society standards.

Main Duties

The post-holder will undertake DXA image validation, evaluation, and reporting, as well as other reporting activities within the department. They will also have a leading role in departmental development and management, working closely with senior staff, including the Head of Department, Chief Clinical Technologists, and Consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the DXA section in the Nuclear Medicine Department
  • Ensure DXA reporting and scanning meet departmental KPIs and Royal Osteoporosis Society standards
  • Undertake DXA image validation, evaluation, and reporting
  • Contribute to departmental development and management
  • Work closely with senior staff to achieve departmental goals

Requirements

  • BSc Degree in Nuclear Medicine or Diagnostic Radiography or Nursing
  • MSc in relevant specialist area or equivalent experience
  • Professional Registration (RCT/HCPC/NMC)
  • Completed ROS national training scheme for DXA
  • Reporting Qualification

Desirable Criteria

  • Management Qualification
  • Experience of working as RPS
  • Produced research
