Job Overview

This post is a 12-month secondment position established to ensure the sustainability and development of the DXA reporting sub-section of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Swansea Bay University Health Board.

We are seeking a qualified diagnostic radiographer with current HCPC registration, or a clinical technologist with current RCT registration, or a clinical nurse specialist with NMC registration, with demonstrable experience in DXA.

The successful candidate will work towards ensuring that DXA reporting is performed in a timely manner, meeting departmental KPIs.

Part-time working arrangements may also be considered.

Main Duties

  1. Undertake DXA image validation, evaluation, and reporting, and participate in departmental leadership and management duties.
  2. Workload will include DXA reporting (approximately 40%), working clinically in any of NM imaging sections (approximately 40%), and service management in their sub-section specialist area (approximately 20%).
  3. Contribute to the day-to-day planning of the service and provide operational leadership.

Requirements

  • BSc Degree in Nuclear Medicine or Diagnostic Radiography or Nursing.
  • MSc in relevant specialist area or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Registration (RCT/HCPC/NMC).
  • Completed ROS national training scheme for DXA.

Desirable Criteria

  • Management Qualification.
  • Post Graduate Qualification in DXA Reporting.
