About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team in the dispensary, stock distribution, and technical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day duties of the Pharmacy Store, Dispensary, and Technical Services on a rotational basis.
  • Receive and process deliveries of pharmaceutical products, checking for accuracy and completeness.
  • Accurately use the computer system to receive goods into the pharmacy store and issue stock items to wards and departments.
  • Assist with the collection of prescription charges and replenish stocks of medicines in the dispensary.
  • Perform daily random stock checks and ensure adequate stocks of containers, bags, and sundry items for dispensing.
  • Pre-pack items for wards and departments, and assist with the top-up of drugs to the emergency drug cupboard.
  • File prescriptions and other pharmacy documents, and be responsible for the checking and recording of fridge temperatures.

Requirements

  • Units of level 2 NVQ Certificate in Pharmacy Service skills in relevant areas of work.
  • Maths GCSE grade A-C (or equivalent).
  • English GCSE grade A-C (or equivalent).
  • Use of computers.
  • Previous Hospital/Pharmacy Experience.
  • Work from written procedures.
  • Dealing with the public.
