Pharmacy Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Kamsons Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service and supporting our pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring that customers receive a friendly and professional service.
- Assist with the sale of over-the-counter medication and pharmacy merchandise, including cashing up and banking.
- Follow the sale of medicines protocol and provide advice to patients on the use of medicines and general health and lifestyle matters.
- Receive and hand out prescriptions under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Collect necessary prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the prescription is correctly filled in and signed by the patient or representative.
- Order sufficient stock in line with company procedures to meet customer demand while minimising losses due to date expiry.
- Maintain attractive looking displays that are tidy and pulled forward, implementing any price changes or promotions.
- Undertake all necessary housekeeping duties to ensure that sales and back shop areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner following company procedures.
- Participate in the delivery of additional services, such as stop smoking advice and blood pressure testing, for which you will have received adequate training.
Previous pharmacy or retail experience is an advantage, although we are willing to train the right candidate.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacy procedures and protocols.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise a varied workload.
Working Hours:
- Part-time, permanent contract.
- Weekend availability required.
