We have an exciting opportunity to contribute to our Public Affairs Team as a Senior Public Affairs Manager. As a key member, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the team to solidify Centrica's reputation as the Responsible Energy supplier and trusted market leader.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Monitoring political events and parliamentary business, keeping colleagues informed on relevant updates.
  2. Fostering strong relationships with MPs, advisors, and other political stakeholders through regular engagement, including email and phone communications.
  3. Analyzing casework correspondence from MPs and identifying trends.
  4. Supporting local engagement programs, including VIP visits to our sites and assets, which may involve travel to locations hosting Centrica operational assets.
  5. Collaborating with corporate affairs colleagues to craft compelling campaigns, content, and messaging highlighting Centrica's contribution to the green transition and its societal impact.
  6. Providing strategic briefings and intelligence for senior-level colleagues on Government policy.
  7. Representing the business at meetings, including external visits to Parliament and MP energy advice events (note: this may involve some travel).
  8. Offering support to colleagues across Corporate Affairs when needed.

Requirements:

  1. Experience within a political environment, such as civil service, Parliament, or an agency.
  2. A demonstrated understanding of UK politics and parliament.
  3. A drive and self-starter mindset with a growth-oriented approach.
  4. The ability to demonstrate gravitas and influencing skills to support senior stakeholders.
  5. The capacity to quickly pick up briefs (or multiple briefs) and move them forward.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
