Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Trials Pharmacist to join our Research and Innovation team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high level of clinical pharmacy input to the wards, working as an independent prescriber to optimise medicine regimes for patients, and being part of a Research and Innovation team that delivers a consistently high clinical trials service.

Main Duties

  • Be part of a team of highly specialised clinical pharmacists delivering a high level of clinical pharmacy input to the wards.
  • Work as an independent prescriber to optimise medicine regimes for patients.
  • Be part of a Research and Innovation team that delivers a consistently high clinical trials service.
  • Act as a role model for, and be responsible for developing core competencies of any pharmacist working in the clinical trial setting by organising their training and assessing their competency.
  • Work with the Lead Pharmacist for Medicines Utilisation regarding the operational management and strategic development of pharmaceutical services and to reduce the risk of medication misadventure within the Research and Innovation Division.

What You Will Need

  • A postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy is essential.
  • Registration with the GPhC as a pharmacist.
  • Relevant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy.
  • Experience of supervision of staff, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and training and mentoring of foundation year trainee pharmacists and rotational staff.
