Junior Trader, European Gas and Power Flow Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Trader to join our European Gas Trading team at E1 EDF Trading Ltd. As a Junior Trader, you will be responsible for developing and executing profitable trading strategies in the European gas market.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement trading strategies in consultation with the Head of European Gas Trading, including risk management, VAR utilization, and position management.
  • Execute trades and manage positions to maximize asset performance and minimize risk.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to identify and develop business opportunities aligned with trading ideas.
  • Support origination strategy for Europe in conjunction with the Origination department.
  • Assist with commercial management of the European gas business, including providing commercial solutions for EDF group and co-controlled entities.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a commodity trading environment, preferably in the gas market.
  • Good working knowledge of the gas markets and market analysis experience.
  • Strong understanding of effective risk management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Graduate level in an analytically-based discipline, such as finance, maths, economics, or science.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a team and adapt to changing market conditions.

Working Hours

40 hours per week.
