We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Trader to join our team at oilandgas. As a key member of our trading desk, you will be responsible for leading our physical/financial continental Power & Gas business by identifying, analyzing, and executing trading opportunities in relevant markets.
Key Responsibilities- Market Analysis and Trading: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trading opportunities and execute trades in a timely manner.
- Risk Management: Manage physical and derivative risks in both liquid and illiquid benchmarks across the EMEA gas and power space.
- Business Development: Work with external and internal customers to bring in new structures with embedded optionality to the book, or deal types to help monetize existing exposures.
- Market Access: Play a key role in setting up access to new markets in order to allow the desk to harvest future commercial opportunities within the structured trading space.
- Proprietary Pricing Models: Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness in terms of steering the growth of in-house proprietary pricing models and fundamentals analysis.
- Trade Execution: Responsible for the entry of trades into the Energy Trading Risk Management system in a timely manner.
- Position Management: Ensure all positions remain at all times within the agreed trading parameters and risk management strategy.
- Market Trends and Insights: Stay up to date with market trends and provide insight and analysis to shape company product offering.
- Collaboration: Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
- Advanced Understanding of Gas and Power Options: You demonstrate an advanced understanding of the dynamics of gas and power options.
- Significant Trading Experience: You bring significant demonstrable experience trading European power and gas benchmarks both in a physical and derivatives context.
- Logistical Delivery Aspects: You demonstrate competency in understanding the logistical-delivery aspects of short-term gas and power trading.
- Power and Gas Fundamentals Modelling: You have a solid understanding of power and gas fundamentals modelling and analysis.
- Trading Opportunities and Asset Optimization: You have a proven track record of translating fundamental analysis and quantitative modelling of derivatives space into trading opportunities and asset optimization strategies.
- Initiative and Resourcefulness: You are full of initiative and resourcefulness with a strong desire to problem-solve in a commercial context.
