Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient operation of the stores department, managing inventory, ordering supplies, receiving and inspecting deliveries, and organising the storage area. This includes:

  • Implementing a system to track stock levels, ensuring inventory is maintained.
  • Utilising inventory monitoring tools to track stock levels and set reorder thresholds that prevent stock-outs and reduce the carrying cost of excess inventory.
  • Conducting regular and thorough inventory audits (Aiming for above 95% inventory accuracy).
  • Maintaining a meticulous record-keeping system for inventory transactions and supplier data, ensuring information is up-to-date, accurate, and easily retrievable for analysis.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent qualification (e.g., HND, HNC, NVQ A level, CIPS Level 3).
  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in an engineering or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering materials equipment and procurement processes.
  • Forklift licence and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (e.g., MS Word and Excel). IOSH, NEBOSH qualifications are desirable.
