Job Title: Cover Supervisor

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cover Supervisor to join a supportive Secondary School in Worksop.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and organized individual to maintain a safe and secure classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring students are engaged in learning activities, maintaining discipline, and upholding the school's behavior policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the classroom environment, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials from the absent teacher, facilitating student engagement through guided activities.
  • Oversee student work during the lesson, ensuring students stay on task and complete assigned activities.
  • Provide support and encouragement to students who require assistance, while monitoring behavior and managing any disruptions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to health and safety procedures and protocols.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role with secondary school children or within an educational setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Having relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field is a plus.
  • Currently residing in the UK.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service.
  • Passion for education and student support.

Please note: This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
