Job Summary

To effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Department within the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring the efficient delivery of Soft Services across multiple sites.

Assist the Soft Services Manager and Deputy Manager in developing the strategic vision for Facilities, aligning with Trust values, departmental budgets, and Estates & Facilities objectives.

Provide line management to Domestic Supervisors, and support the Deputy Soft Services Manager and Soft Services Manager with the line management of Catering and Portering Supervisors at Trafford General Hospital site.

Main Responsibilities

Manage the efficient day-to-day operation of the Facilities Department, liaising with Estates & Facilities and Clinical Teams across multiple sites.

Develop and implement best practice solutions to improve service delivery, ensuring high-quality services are provided in a cost-effective manner.

Monitor service provision, respond promptly to service failures, and maintain a high-quality environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Supervisory experience in facilities services, including Catering, Portering, and Domestics.
  • Detailed knowledge of healthcare FM services operations.
  • BTEC or ILM Level 3 in Facilities Management.
  • Experience with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • A good level of written English.
