About the Role

Avante Care & Support is a Registered Charity supporting older people through our registered nursing and dementia care homes and home care services.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Activities & Wellbeing Coordinator to join our care home, Barnes Lodge in Tonbridge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a varied programme of social, cultural and recreational activities, tailored to meet individual needs, promoting independence and making each day of residents' lives as fulfilling as possible.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a range of activities to engage residents, including music, movement, games, quizzes, and external activities in the surrounding community.
  • Work with staff, families and volunteers to enhance the care and support of residents.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure activities are aligned with individual care plans and promote a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
  • Organise outings and entertainment in the home, including gardening, sewing, painting, and reminiscence therapy.

Requirements

  • Health & Social Care NVQ 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience in recreational activities and creating an elder-centred community.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to motivate and engage others.
