Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine and Same Day Emergency Care

Job Overview
Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a motivated medical registrar to join its team in Acute Medicine and Same Day Emergency Care. This is a 1-year fixed contract opportunity for doctors who have completed foundation and core medical competencies and wish to gain focused experience and training in acute medicine.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will rotate through the busy and varied acute assessment unit (AAU) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), gaining clinical experience in Acute Medicine. Participation in SDEC service development is also expected, with opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Person Specification
- Primary medical qualification as recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC)
- MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 (written)
- Familiarity with the major principles of the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2006)
- Current ALS certification
- Previous NHS clinical experience at SpR level
- Acute medicine and Ambulatory Care/SDEC experience
- Evidence of participation in Clinical Audit and/or quality improvement
Language and Communication Skills
The successful candidate must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues.
