Business Operations Assistant

Barnardo's is seeking a highly skilled Business Support Assistant to join our team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our Ladywood Children's Centres/Family Hub, ensuring the smooth operation of our services.
The ideal candidate will have well-developed numeracy and literacy skills, with substantial experience of IT systems, including word, Excel, and database systems. They will also have experience of general office procedures, data inputting, maintaining records, and producing statistical reports.
As the first point of contact for visitors, the successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with staff, young people, and visitors, and will be able to deal with constant interruptions from visitors, staff, and young people.
The role will require the candidate to travel independently across the district, so flexibility and adaptability are essential. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as a member of a team and on their own initiative, and will be able to maintain strict confidentiality and work within data protection guidelines.
Barnardo's offers a range of benefits, including 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing after 5 years service, and access to a Group Personal Pension with a matched 4% or 6% contribution from Barnardo's.
The successful candidate will be appointed between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band, with opportunities for annual pay steps based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours.
