Materials Procurement Specialist

Ascend Airways is seeking a highly skilled Materials Controller to join our team at London Gatwick. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the procurement and logistics of aircraft requirements, including AOG and ADD demands, as well as routine stock purchasing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing and logistics, with experience in the aviation industry. You will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock and warehousing, and working closely with accounts to process invoices in line with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Purchase inventory for stock and specific aircraft requirements, including AOGs and ADDs
- Organize shipping and prioritize appropriately as per demand status
- Ensure exchanges and PBH supplied parts are closed in line with agreed terms to avoid unnecessary costs
- Maintain inventory levels and consigned stock at line stations, including consumable and rotable parts
- Work closely with Maintenance Control and Technical services to ensure good information flow at all times
- Ensure quality is adhered to following regulatory requirements and report any breaches of quality standards
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing and logistics, preferably in the aviation industry
- Knowledge of aircraft components and awareness of component conditions, certification, and airworthiness regulations
- Proactive and able to work independently on tasks to completion
- Excellent team ethics and communication skills at all levels
- Good computer literacy, with experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
- Experience with Business Central or other aircraft parts platforms
