Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to provide day-to-day or short-term support in schools across the Preston and South Ribble areas.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers to deliver engaging and effective lessons, providing support to students with a range of additional needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide support to students with a range of additional needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for children with special educational needs.
  • Adapt to different school settings, including primary, secondary, PRU, and alternative provisions.
  • Be flexible and available for day-to-day or short-term assignments.

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with children with special educational needs and a desire to contribute to their development.
  • Flexibility and willingness to commute within Preston, Kirkham, Chorley, or Leyland.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant experience in an educational or childcare setting is an advantage.
  • Level 2, 3, or 4 teaching assistant qualifications or relevant degree honors are highly sought after by our schools.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
