Job Title: Special Needs Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Assistant to join our team in Preston. As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with physical, emotional, and cognitive needs in a primary education setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to children with SEN, adapting resources and activities to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Liaise with teachers, TAs, and other support staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Work with small groups or children on a one-to-one basis, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing regular updates to teachers and parents.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a primary education setting.
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviors and providing emotional support.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with children, teachers, and parents.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and proactivity in your support approach.
  • TA qualification or equivalent experience.
