Job Title: Special Needs Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Special Needs Assistant to join our team in Preston. As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with physical, emotional, and cognitive needs in a primary education setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to children with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties
  • Assist with preparation and planning of activities tailored to individual children's needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO to develop and implement support plans
  • Work with small groups or children on a one-to-one basis to promote learning and development
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEN or learning difficulties
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviors and developing positive relationships with children
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • TA qualification or equivalent experience
