Job Title: Colorectal Specialist Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Colorectal Specialist Nurse to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless care pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional patient care, underpinned by evidence-based practice and our Trust values.
  • Work in partnership with patients, families, and carers to ensure active involvement in the caring process.
  • Manage, direct, and evaluate nursing care for a defined caseload of patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of nursing practice relevant to the clinical area.
  • Undertake mentorship and preceptorship roles, reflecting the Oxford Model for Exemplary Professional Nursing and Midwifery Practice.
  • Contribute to the development of professional nursing practice in the department.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner, adhering to the Code (NMC 2015).

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (Part 1, 8, 12, or 15 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register) or National Certification in the area of practice.
  • UK-recognised Degree in Nursing relevant to the post.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an NMC revalidation or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a related area.

Desirable:

  • Evidence of a career development plan, including higher-level Nursing Qualification.
